There will come a time in your marriage when you will find some behaviours unnecessary and maybe even a little crazy. So I’ve shared the five grown behaviours that should be exhibited to avoid childish squabble.
#1. Own Your Mistakes: Do not think you are less of a person for making a mistake or being wrong about a situation in the marriage. There is no need to make the other person feel bad for making a mistake or being wrong. Instead, admit your mistakes without blaming
#2. Tantrums are for Kids: Do not let your negative emotions take over and cause you to act a fool all the time. Instead check yourselves and think before you act.
#3. Use Your Words: Do not talk disrespect them. Instead, communicate effectively and respect each other.
#3. Open and Clear: Do not give each other a reason to mistrust or feel insecure by acting inappropriately. Instead, make sure the other feels comfortable by doing what is necessary. If the other party doesn’t feel secure, just don’t do it.
#5. Pouting Does Nothing: do not waste time being mad at each other or giving one another the silent treatment after an argument. Instead, find a resolution or agree to disagree and keep it moving.
There is nothing cute about acting childish, however, maturity is oh so sexy! So the next time you’re tempted to act out, remember you are too grown for that.
